What is Radial Shockwave Therapy?

Shockwave therapy is a mechanical treatment that uses a probe to deliver high- pressure pulse waves into an injured area. This process triggers a biological reaction in tissue cells and enhances blood flow to the site, promoting healing. By stimulating a new inflammatory or healing response, it facilitates tissue repair and regeneration.

What to expect?

Initial Consultation: A healthcare provider will assess your condition, medical history, and suitability for RSWT.

Preparation: Generally, no special preparation is needed. Wear comfortable clothing to allow easy access to the treatment area.

During the Procedure: You will sit or lie down, depending on the treatment area. A gel is applied to the skin to improve contact between the shockwave device and your body. The practitioner uses a handheld device to deliver radial shockwaves to the targeted area. You may feel mild discomfort or tingling during the treatment.

Duration: Each session typically lasts between 15 to 20 minutes. Multiple sessions (usually 3-5) may be scheduled over several weeks, depending on your condition and response to treatment.
