Acupuncture is typically regarded as a complementary or alternative therapy. While it may not be effective for everyone, many people find it very beneficial, and it is now commonly included in treatment options at modern pain management clinics and NHS centres.
It is believed that the needles stimulate nerves in a way that helps to relieve pain and tension. Traditional practices also emphasize the concept of stimulating energy flow throughout the body.
At Thurrock health Hubs, we offer acupuncture as part of our extensive care services.

During an acupuncture session, a trained practitioner will gently insert a series of very fine needles into the targeted area. These needles remain in place for about 15- 20 minutes, depending on the specific treatment, before being carefully removed.
The process is generally painless, although you may experience a dull ache or sensations like tingling. Usually, multiple sessions are needed for optimal results.
This is performed in conjunction with other treatment modalities.
